Shona is the Practice Director and co-owner of Sunshine Coast Psychology Clinic (SCPC) in Maroochydore and Sippy Downs. With a career spanning senior allied health administration, business operations, and client service leadership, Shona brings a calm, organised, and deeply people-focused approach to the day-to-day running of the clinic. She is passionate about building a practice where clients feel genuinely supported and clinicians can do their best work in a professional, well-run environment.

FROM FINANCE & BUSINESS TO PEOPLE-CENTRED CARE

Originally trained as an accountant, Shona developed strong foundations in precision, compliance, and financial stewardship—skills that continue to strengthen SCPC’s sustainability and service quality. Over time, her work in people-facing roles and allied health settings shaped a clear purpose: supporting individuals and families through meaningful, compassionate care. This led Shona to retrain as a counsellor and pursue psychology studies through Deakin University—cementing her commitment to wellbeing and client-centred support.

Shona believes that great therapy outcomes are supported by great systems. From first enquiry to ongoing support, she prioritises clear communication, respectful processes, and a welcoming environment—especially for clients and families who may be navigating stress, uncertainty, or complex needs. She is known for being approachable and responsive, with a steady “let’s work through it” mindset when questions, concerns, or complaints arise.

LEADING THE ADMIN TEAM WITH CLARITY & KINDNESS

As the leader of the administration team, Shona focuses on consistency, professionalism, and warmth. She trains and supports the admin team to handle enquiries with care, protect confidentiality, and guide clients through appointments and paperwork with minimal friction. Her aim is simple: remove the barriers that stop people from accessing help, and ensure every client interaction reflects SCPC’s values of compassion and excellence.

SUPPORTING CLINICIANS & BUILDING A STRONG PRACTICE CULTURE

Shona is also passionate about recruiting, onboarding, and supporting high-quality clinicians. She understands what great clinicians need to thrive: an organised practice, strong admin support, well-maintained systems, and a culture where people feel respected and valued. New team members often comment on the calm structure Shona brings—creating a clinic that feels both professional and genuinely human.
